For over a year I was driving a really fun 79 El Camino that I knew got terrible gas milage and leaked lots of oil.  The best I could do on a nice relaxed week of driving was maybe 9 mpg if I didn’t accelerate hard and never went above 50.  I actually tried it for a week. 

Then I got a Subaru with a weird transmission and a little engine that didn’t require a quart of oil a day.

Saving money is nice.
